DANVILLE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Everloop.com, the ground-breaking social media site for kids under 13, today announced an online partnership with The Peacemaker Corps Association, which trains and empowers generations to come together and encourage peace, compassion, safety and tolerance.
Everloop will feature the Peacemaker Corps’ theme song “Peace in the Streets” on its site and will also customize a “loop” that will further the song’s message through a variety of features, including a “Dean & JoJo” interactive game that teaches anti-bullying through characters, a Civility Game to help kids express what civility means to them and anti-bullying information from leading experts for kids and parents.
“This partnership is one that we are very proud to support and bring to the attention of our members,” said Hilary DeCesare, Co-Founder and CEO of Everloop. “This is an important piece of the puzzle for us, to help tell the Peacemaker Corps’ story and teach our youth about tolerance. The Everloop community for kids is enriched by the Peacemaker Corps’ message.”
Civility is at the center of that message, something that many people feel has been lost in everyday life. “It’s time to bring civility back into our communities, our workplaces, our government… and Everloop can help us do that,” says Carole Sumner Krechman, Founder and President of Peacemaker Corps. “It can only happen if we help the next generation learn how to de-escalate conflict.”
The official Peacemakers Corps Loop on Everloop will also provide users with video footage from the upcoming Peacemaker Corps Concert in the Park on October 23, 2011. Titled “Peace in the Streets,” the concert will honor International Conflict Resolution Day, October 20th. The goal is to promote awareness of peaceful means in resolving conflict in schools, families, businesses, communities, governments and the legal system.
With music such an integral part of young people’s lives, there is optimism that the message of peace will be heard and adopted within the Everloop community. “Peace cannot be imposed from outside; it must be generated from within,” states Anwarul K. Chowdhury, Peacemaker Corps’ advisor and Ambassador at Large for Women, Development, and Peace. “Today’s leadership needs to ensure that the relevance of nonviolence, tolerance, and democracy is inculcated in every woman and man, children and adults alike.”
