OMAHA, Neb.--()--A remarkable collection of costumes, animation cels, scripts, posters, special production items, unreleased original artwork, publicity stills and other priceless Hollywood memorabilia from the silent film era through modern day will cross the auction block live, online on Proxibid (www.proxibid.com), the world’s largest real auction marketplace. The live auction will be presented by Don Presley Auctions in conjunction with Dave Hester Auctions and celebrity auctioneers Dan and Laura Dotson on Saturday, October 29 at 10:00 a.m. Pacific with live online bidding via Proxibid commencing at that time. View the catalog and place your pre-bids today by visiting www.proxibid.com/donpresley.

More than 400 lots consisting of 40,000 pieces of rare Hollywood memorabilia will cross the block during this live auction webcast. The prior owners of the collection are well-known motion picture industry executives who accumulated the collection over several years. The collection was neatly boxed under lock and key at a storage facility until recently, when the contents were deemed abandoned due to unpaid rent on the storage unit. The collection was sold in a storage unit auction, where it was purchased sight unseen. Now, for the first time, this breathtaking collection will be available on the open market. Bidders will not want to miss the chance to bid live online on featured items including:

  • Wizard of Oz Collectibles: Featuring items dating from the 1900’s through the 1990’s, such as autographed books and books in many languages, posters, prints, lobby cards, Oz kids animation, Little Wizards, film compilation reels with footage of decades of Oz with 1900’s images, and movie production publicity stills never released to the public;
  • Movie Productions: Disney’s Return to Oz, Marigold (Bollywood), Tom’s Midnight Garden, The Runestone, Playing by Heart/Dancing About Architecture and more;
  • Movie Memorabilia: Iconic film footage from the Wizard of Oz, production film footage, scripts and props, foreign and domestic movie posters, collectible Star Wars and Star Trek memorabilia, Judy Garland magazines, newspapers and other entertainment magazines, first issue of Life Magazine featuring a cover photo shot by photographer Margaret Bourke-White, hardback signed first editions, original Peyton Place 6-sheet movie posters and more;
  • Animation: Thousands of Disney animation production cels from “The Brave Little Toaster” and “The Proud Family,” “Bebe’s Kids,” the first black feature-length animation production, “Itsy Bitsy Spider” original art by Tim Burton, Go Nagai original signed artwork and more.
  • Theater: Autographed artwork from “Where the Wild Things Are,” posters, prints, “Nutcracker” production stills and more.

“We think there will be massive international interest in this collection,” said Don Presley. “I have been an auctioneer since the 1970s, and in my opinion this is Hollywood's premier archive of entertainment memorabilia. It's filled with unique treasures ranging from the silent-film era through modern-day productions. A collection like this comes along only once in a lifetime.”
