PHOENIX--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Today, PetSmart® (NASDAQ: PETM) celebrates the bond between its associates and pet parents by launching the “Happiness In Store” site (www.petsmart.com/mystory), which brings to life the relationships between pet parents, their pets and PetSmart associates through stories, pictures and video testimonials. The site follows the PetSmart “Happiness In Store” contest which ended July 31, 2011 and resulted in thousands of stories being shared by pet parents about outstanding experiences with key PetSmart associates in cities across the United States, Canada and Puerto Rico. Due to the positive responses from pet parents during and after the contest, PetSmart built the Happiness In Store site to encourage pet parents to continue to share their stories.
“Through the Happiness In Store Facebook contest, pet parents shared more than 7,000 stories about PetSmart associates who delivered unmatched customer experiences,” said David Lenhardt, Executive Vice President, PetSmart. “Help from knowledgeable, caring associates defines the experience our customers expect from PetSmart, and these stories drive home how associates are making the lives of pets and their pet parents even better.”
The stories were submitted during this summer’s “Happiness In Store” contest where pet parents were asked to submit their stories about experiences with their local associates on PetSmart's Facebook Fan Page. Three winners were given a grand prize of $1,000 and their stories were captured on video:
- “More Than Training”: Katie’s puppy, Logan, had demonstrated aggressive behavior for the first five months of his life. Wendy, an Illinois-based PetSmart trainer, helped Logan overcome his aggression issues and gave the family a new life with him.
- “Harley’s Birthday”: PetSmart store manager, Robert, in Arizona gave Harley the best birthday celebration of his short life with an extra-special birthday party, complete with balloons, doggie cake and toys.
- “Raising Little Emma”: Emma’s new mom had all of the same worries as any new pet parent. PetSmart groomer, Justin, from Ontario, Canada, helped her through those first weeks of bonding and education with Emma.
“We hope our pet parents will continue to share their stories that recognize the great experiences they have with associates in our stores,” continued Lenhardt. “The trust our pet parents put in our PetSmart associates and our company is an honor.”
