Tidemark and SnapLogic Form Strategic Alliance to Bring Web Scale Integration to Big Data in the Enterprise

Industry’s first Enterprise Performance Management Platform powered by the SnapLogic Integration Platform

Enterprises can now leverage cloud-based data integration on a wide variety of structured and unstructured data to power their performance management applications.

REDWOOD CITY, Calif. & SAN MATEO, Calif.--()--Tidemark, whose Enterprise Performance Management (EPM) platform is built for the cloud, and SnapLogic, the cloud connection company, announced today that they have entered into a strategic alliance. Under the agreement, Tidemark will embed SnapLogic’s Integration Platform into their EPM solution, providing Tidemark customers the business benefits of a tightly integrated software suite while giving them the choice to use whatever applications best meet their needs.

SnapLogic’s cloud connection technology tightly integrates Tidemark with popular enterprise applications, including on-premise legacy applications like SAP and Oracle, as well as modern cloud-based solutions like salesforce.com. Hundreds of other applications, such as e-commerce systems, mass e-mail and social networks, can also be integrated via connectors or “Snaps” from SnapLogic’s SnapStore. The partners have committed to sharing development resources to deliver product integration support between their solutions. Finally, Tidemark will use SnapLogic Server and Snaps for data migration tasks associated with Tidemark installations.

Aimed at manufacturing, consumer products, retail and high tech firms, the Tidemark Enterprise Performance Management Platform delivers real-time, robust risk-adjusted metrics management; strategic, financial and operational planning and forecasting; and profitability modeling. Organizations have long struggled with legacy systems’ ability to handle the great variety of data sources present in the enterprise. With the explosion of user-generated content such as blogs, activity streams from Twitter and Facebook, and audio and video, an entirely new class of information needs to be co-opted to extract business value for decision-making that optimizes performance outcomes.

By combining the leading cloud-based data integration platform and purpose-built EPM applications with rich pre-built functionality, the integrated Tidemark | SnapLogic solution enables organizations to extract immediate value from large amounts of complex, dynamic data from hundreds of different data sources at a lower total cost of ownership (TCO) than proprietary solutions.

"Many companies realize that achieving business value requires taking the right actions at the right time. The information required to take actions now comes from a vast amount of structured and unstructured data found in disparate systems throughout the organization. Unfortunately, most organizations cannot access this information because they are burdened with huge maintenance costs and little innovation in their legacy products,” said R "Ray" Wang, principal analyst and CEO of Constellation Research, Inc. "Companies seeking a competitive advantage require cloud-based data integration for a full spectrum of data. This is a pre-requisite for next-generation performance management applications as it significantly reduces the time to value on one of the most costly aspects of customer deployments.”

With the embedded SnapLogic solution, Tidemark Enterprise Performance Management Platform users get:

  • Data Integration Server: SnapLogic Server goes beyond traditional extract, transform and load (ETL) capabilities by offering discoverable, callable and reusable data services. Its REST-based engine works like a web server, so the engine reads, transforms and writes data in a web format. Data can be brought into Tidemark’s environment in a high performance, reliable manner running completely in the cloud.
  • SnapStore: SnapLogic Snaps are modular collections of integration components built for a specific application or data source. Snaps shield both business users and developers from much of the complexity of the underlying application, data model and service. Snaps are easy to build and modify, and are based on an open and standardized development environment. The SnapStore lets you purchase and download a Snap in seconds to connect any data source to Tidemark.
  • Optionally, SnapReduce for Hadoop: SnapReduce transforms SnapLogic data integration pipelines directly into MapReduce tasks that run on the Tidemark Enterprise Performance Management Platform, making Hadoop processing much more accessible and resulting in optimal Hadoop cluster utilization. SnapReduce matches SnapLogic dataflow pipelines directly to equivalent MapReduce jobs resulting in more efficient data processing and pipeline monitoring on Hadoop. SnapReduce is currently available as a beta offering.

“Data Integration has always been a challenge in the legacy analytics world. As the Tidemark Enterprise Performance Management Platform is built for the cloud, we needed a partner that had an open architecture framework that allows us to connect to virtually any other application or data source. We found that in SnapLogic,” said Christian Gheorghe, founder and CEO, Tidemark. “Organizations can now build performance management applications that extract value from a huge variety of data sources. These sources are natively integrated in the cloud, including relational data, activity streams, XML and text with built-in data cleansing, which enables organizations to execute their integrations on our infrastructure with SnapLogic’s technology without the need for costly and time consuming hand coding.”

“Enterprises are increasingly moving their performance management applications to the cloud. Our strategic alliance enables customers to rapidly and easily integrate the Tidemark Enterprise Performance Management Platform with a wide variety of data sources both on premise and in the cloud, delivering the benefits of packaged software suites while preserving customer choice,” said Gaurav Dhillon, founder and CEO, SnapLogic. “The combination of Tidemark and SnapLogic’s Integration Platform provides tremendous value for companies everywhere that want to exploit the next-generation of EPM applications built for the cloud.”
