SANTA CLARA, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--BridgeWave Communications, the leading supplier of 4G millimeter wave backhaul solutions, today announced the National Bank of Abu Dhabi has deployed several gigabit wireless links to support the transfer of critical data. The National Bank of Abu Dhabi relies heavily on secure, consistent connectivity to support the transfer of voice, email services and video data across multiple buildings. BridgeWave’s ultra-high capacity 80 GHz wireless links have successfully alleviated network bottlenecks and resulted in significant cost-savings and capacity increases.
The National Bank of Abu Dhabi sought out an alternative solution when the free space optics products in place experienced capacity constraints due to sandstorms and fog, and didn’t yield enough bandwidth to support their needs. The network team researched traditional fiber, yet found it cost prohibitive. Additionally, the sensitive banking services being passed over the network on a day-to-day basis required AES encryption, as well as continuous connectivity to ensure that communication with the stock exchange was not lost.
Majed Salah, group leader of network services at the National Bank of Abu Dhabi, ultimately decided that BridgeWave’s AR80-AES gigabit wireless links were the most attractive alternative based on capacity, cost, security and reliability. The BridgeWave links in place now serve as the primary high speed network connection between facilities and support data replication and storage.
“The time-sensitive nature of the information being passed over our network requires a very reliable connection with high availability. If our network fails, we lose connectivity to the stock exchange and our customers cannot do business effectively,” said Salah. “The BridgeWave links provide full-rate gigabit speeds with no latency, as well as important AES encryption, at minimal cost.”
The National Bank of Abu Dhabi experienced significant improvements in capacity and is realizing significant cost- and time-savings as compared to an alternative fiber-based solution.
“BridgeWave’s gigabit wireless links help organizations achieve secure, carrier-grade performance at a fraction of the cost and time needed to deploy fiber,” said Augustino Lucenti, Senior Vice President of Sales at BridgeWave Communications. “This deployment demonstrates the flexibility and reliability of our solution, which allows the National Bank of Abu Dhabi to perform mission-critical activities imperative to both financial stability initiatives seamlessly.”
BridgeWave will be joining partner Prologix Distribution at GITEX Technology Week in Dubai from October 9-13. Please visit booth Z-H30 in Zabeel Hall to learn more about BridgeWave’s ultra-high capacity GigE offerings.
