LOS ANGELES--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The Circle of Care Foundation (“COCF”) announced today that it has completed a strategic repositioning of the organization and will focus its efforts exclusively on supporting burn survivors and their families. COCF was formed six years ago to fund a variety of important community-based heath care programs designed to assist burn survivors and their families, seniors, and caregivers.
Linda David, CEO, states, “The Board of Directors felt that, to make an even greater impact within the community and throughout Southern California, we needed to do one thing and do it well. By focusing all of our resources on outreach to the burn community -- which has long been one of our signature programs -- we can do even more for this vitally important constituency. This is an important and exciting development in the evolution of the Circle of Care Foundation.”
According to COCF’s revised mission, it will seek to “create improved outcomes for burn survivors and their families throughout Southern California.” In keeping with this mission, the organization plans to immediately expand its programs throughout the region.
Dr. A. Richard Grossman, Founder of The Grossman Burn Centers, commented, “The Circle of Care Foundation has been a wonderful partner in assisting our patients and their families with their needs. They fill an important gap in the healthcare system as insurance continues to provide diminishing coverage and so many remain uninsured. I am grateful for all that the Circle of Care Foundation has done and I am extremely excited to continue our work together now that they have bolstered their commitment to supporting burn survivors and their families.”
COCF will continue to support the programs of The Grossman Burn Center through direct patient assistance, funding for the burn survivor family camp, and sponsoring the COCF “Courtesy Condo” used to house family members of burn survivors undergoing treatment at The Grossman Burn Center at West Hills Hospital and Medical Center.
