ATLANTA--(BUSINESS WIRE)--McAfee announced today that McAfee® Safe Eyes® (www.safeeyes.com), parental control software designed to manage children’s Internet use, has earned the prestigious Good Housekeeping Seal. Receipt of the Seal marks the latest recognition for Safe Eyes software, which has received awards from The National Parenting Center, Parents’ Choice Foundation, European Commission, PC Magazine, LAPTOP Magazine and other organizations.
The Good Housekeeping Seal has been a symbol of consumer protection and product excellence since 1909. Research shows that consumers trust the Seal more than any other consumer emblem; with 76% reporting that it has “tremendous influence” or “a great deal of influence” in their opinion of a product.1
Safe Eyes software received the Seal, and the associated limited product warranty, following a rigorous evaluation by the Good Housekeeping Research Institute. The limited warranty reflected by the Good Housekeeping Seal means that if a product bearing the Seal is defective within the first two years of purchase, Good Housekeeping will replace the product or refund the purchase price.
Major Achievement
“For 12 years, we have continued to upgrade Safe Eyes software to offer complete online protection to families even in the face of a constantly changing Internet landscape, and we have received repeated commendations for providing tools that safeguard children from inappropriate content and risky online behavior,” said Shane Kenny, director of sales and marketing at McAfee. “This willingness to continually expand product functionality has led directly to the Good Housekeeping Seal, which we are proud to add to our list of recognitions Safe Eyes software has achieved.”
Safe Eyes software:
- Enables parents to block objectionable websites on PCs, Macs, iPads, iPhones and iPod Touch in their choice of 35 categories as well as by URL and keyword.
- Works with multiple Internet browsers including Firefox, Chrome, Safari and Internet Explorer.
- Can be used on PCs and Macs to limit length and time of Internet use, block or record instant messenger chats, limit email use to certain addresses, detect inappropriate or personal information posts on social networks, and more.
