Baltimore Technology Park Receives SSAE 16 Type II

BALTIMORE--()--Baltimore Technology Park, a leading colocation data center based in Baltimore, today announced the successful completion of its Statement on Standards for Attestation Engagements (SSAE) No. 16 Type II examination. This was obtained after a two-month SSAE 16 Type II audit process. SSAE 16 Type II supplants Baltimore Technology Park’s previous examination of controls, SAS 70 Type II, and demonstrates the data center’s continued commitment to providing industry-leading security for its customers.

The report affirms Baltimore Technology Park’s qualifications as it pertains to its ability to meet its customers’ requirements for internal controls over financial reporting. These include physical and environmental security, problem management, technical support, customer ordering/service delivery, network equipment monitoring, corporate organization and administration.

“Securing the SSAE 16 Type II report further confirms Baltimore Technology Park’s commitment to providing our customers with superior service,” said Jim Weller, President of Baltimore Technology Park. “The SSAE 16 Type II rating ensures that we are able to continue to provide our customers, operating in a wide-range of industries, with piece of mind - 365 days a year, seven days a week, 24 hours a day - by eliminating any fear, uncertainty or doubt associated with housing their mission critical IT infrastructure in our data center.”

Wesley Mace, PMP, Vice President of Information Technology-Infrastructure of Kelly & Associates Insurance Group, Inc., and a customer of Baltimore Technology Park, explains the benefit of the data center’s SSAE Type 16 II rating to his company.

“Through Baltimore Technology Park’s completion of this new auditing process, we in turn, are able to assure our clients that their information is in a premium and secure environment,” said Mace. “Knowing that we are partnering with this type of premier facility provides our customers with complete assurance that their data is protected in the case of any sort of emergency.”
