RES’ Bayou Terrebonne Mitigation Bank Now Supplying Ecological Offsets in Louisiana’s Coastal Zone

BATON ROUGE, La.--()--Coastal Louisiana Resources, L.L.C. (CLR), a subsidiary of Resource Environmental Solutions, L.L.C. (RES), announces the opening of a new wetland mitigation bank serving Terrebonne Parish, Louisiana. The bank will provide 178.4 acres of bottomland hardwood, baldcypress-tupelo swamp, and fresh marsh to compensate for unavoidable wetland impacts for the Terrebonne Basin watershed area.

The Bayou Terrebonne Mitigation Bank is located approximately 2.5 miles southeast of Montegut, Louisiana and was established to provide compensation for unavoidable, project-related impacts to forested wetlands in USGS Hydrologic Cataloging Unit 08090302 of the Terrebonne drainage basins. The bank also services a secondary area in USGS Hydrologic Accounting Unit 08090301, the East Central Louisiana Coastal watershed.

Bayou Terrebonne Mitigation Bank is located within the Louisiana Coastal Conservation Boundary (Coastal Zone) and the bank’s contract with the government allows the use of these mitigation bank offsets to fulfill permit requirements of the Louisiana Department of Natural Resources’ Coastal Use Permit program.

“The Bayou Terrebonne Mitigation Bank directly enables Terrebonne Parish development activities by providing ready access to mitigation inventory, eliminating costly project delays by proactively satisfying permitting requirements,” said Elliott Bouillion, RES’ CEO.
