SUNNYVALE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--ArrayPower, a Silicon Valley-based power electronics company, today announced the launch of its Sequenced Inverter technology for use in photovoltaic (PV) systems. Designed specifically for commercial-scale solar installations – an area currently underrepresented by competitors – the Sequenced Inverter enables an affordable, higher performing alternative to competing inverter technologies available on the market.
In partnership with solar manufacturers, ArrayPower’s technology is integrated during the module production process. Sequenced Inverter-equipped modules improve overall system performance by pulsing and sequencing power across the entire array to create three-phase, commercial grade AC power.
The design of the ArrayPower Sequenced Inverter reduces the number of critical components required for operation, optimizing production costs and enhancing reliability. Sequenced Inverters also eliminate the failure-prone liquid capacitors that exist in other inverter technologies, extending system life to more than 25 years.
“The countless hours of research and development we’ve dedicated to our Sequenced Inverter technology now enable ArrayPower to optimize the cost, safety and performance of solar systems through a ‘plug and play’ AC module,” said Wendy Arienzo, CEO of ArrayPower. “With our solution, solar manufacturers can produce an efficient, highly durable AC module that is economically attractive for commercial installations.”
ArrayPower, formerly Array Converter, is led by a team of experts with exceptional backgrounds in the power electronics, semiconductor and communications industries who bring unparalleled expertise and quality service to customers and strategic partners.
The company’s primary mission is to simplify and improve the cost-effectiveness of getting solar power from module to grid. ArrayPower’s Sequenced Inverter technology represents a significant step toward the ultimate goal of achieving grid parity.
ArrayPower will provide an official overview of its sequenced inverter technology during Solar Power International, being held Oct. 17-20 in Dallas, Texas.
