NEW YORK--()--Standard & Poor’s announced today that it has commenced Factual Stock Report coverage on Colombia Clean Power & Fuels, Inc.

Colombia Clean Power & Fuels, Inc. (OTCBB: CCPF), in the exploration stage as of March 31, 2011, is developing coal mining, coal coking, and clean coal technology operations, initially in Colombia, South America. The company plans to build mines to produce both metallurgical coal and thermal coal and implement advanced coal technologies, such as coal gasification and coal-to-liquids, to produce metallurgical coke, urea, liquid fuels, power and other clean energy solutions.

As of late July 2011, the company's operations were focused on coal exploration and development activities. Colombia Clean Power & Fuels has retained engineering and geological services firms in the United States and Colombia to conduct exploration work in selected concessions acquired to date and others under consideration for acquisition by the company.

Colombia Clean Power S.A.S., the company's Colombian subsidiary, was established to acquire and develop coal concessions. The company is in the process of securing concessions in the Santander region of Colombia. Colombia Clean Power & Fuels has established an initial target to control over 300 million tons of metallurgical coal through concessions. The Santander region was selected because of its large metallurgical coal resources, its location on the Magdalena River with river access for shipping, and its proximity to Colombia's main pipeline and several other refined products pipelines.

Colombia Clean Power & Fuels reported in late July 2011 that, to date, it had acquired six coal mining concessions covering over 10,000 hectares (over 25,000 acres) with an estimated 150 million tons of coal and was actively negotiating additional acquisitions. The company previously reported that it was continuing its exploration activities, having already completed 17 boreholes on multiple properties. In addition, the company was in the process of finalizing a feasibility study for its initial coal coking facility, which it anticipates developing over the next 18 months.
