The defence and security company Saab (STO:SAABB) has received an order from FMV (the Swedish Defence Materiel Administration) to upgrade a naval sonar system. The total order amounts to MSEK 400.
The order from FMV concerns hardware in the Hydra sonar system 135/137 and adaption to the combat management system, used by the Swedish Armed Forces' Gävle andVisbyclass corvettes.
The order from FMV concerns the Security and Defence Solutions and Dynamics business areas at Saab.
“We're pleased to have been entrusted with further development of the system. Our job is to coordinate hardware with existing command systems, which on the long-term reduces maintenance costs. The order will also contribute to further reinforcing our strong position within the naval field,” says Gunilla Fransson, Head of the Security and Defence Solutions business area at Saab.
The contract will be valid throughout the period 2011 - 2014.
