LISBON, Portugal--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nintendo has partnered with ZON@FON in Portugal to provide more than 450.000 public WiFi hotspots with wireless Internet access to Nintendo 3DS users who will be able to receive free audio-visual content in 3D. Thanks to Nintendo 3DS’s SpotPass functionality, the console automatically receives this content, without the need to enter a username or a password, even when the handheld is in Sleep Mode. Thus, Portugal becomes the country with the world's largest network of WiFi hotspots compatible with Nintendo 3DS.
Whether at home or in public areas, Portuguese users can now receive movie trailers, music and comedy clips, as well as cartoons, both in 2D and 3D, exclusively for Nintendo 3DS. You just have to download the new Nintendo Video application from the Nintendo 3DS’s online store, Nintendo eShop. To see a map of ZON@FON’s public WiFi hotspots please visit www.zonfon.pt/mapas.
Initial Nintendo Video content available through SpotPass will include selected episodes of Oscar's Oasis. This charming cartoon TV series produced by TeamTO & TUBA will be available to view for the first time in full 3D on the Nintendo 3DS system.
Portuguese users will also be able to learn magic tricks thanks to a series of exclusive episodes of Magic Tricks for your Nintendo 3DS, produced by D4D. These videos bring all the entertainment of classic card tricks and optical illusions to the palm of your hand, in full 3D. Nintendo Video will be bringing you a host of additional content, including movie trailers, classical music concerts, children’s animations plus much more, all in full 3D.
