PROVO, Utah--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Vivint™, one of the nation’s largest home automation companies, announced that Jim Nye has been promoted to vice president of product management.
Nye joined Vivint in 2006, and most recently served as vice president of business development. In his new position, Nye will continue to manage business partnerships related to product development, as well as all new product selection and supply chain management.
Nye leads the company’s relationship with 2gig Technologies, which allows Vivint to provide customers with innovative home automation technology, such as Go!Control, a self-contained console with a color LCD that allows easy control of security and automation devices in the home, including door locks, lights and smart thermostats. Nye has also played a critical role in managing the relationship with Alarm.com, whose software allows customers to control their systems remotely from their smartphones or computers.
“Jim has played a critical role in Vivint’s transition from a security-only provider, to one of North America’s leading home automation companies,” says Alex Dunn, Vivint’s chief operating officer. “His ability to select and coordinate the development of the right technologies gives our customers intuitive solutions that help make their homes and families safer, and their lives simpler. Jim’s expanded role will allow him to bring even more of his talents and experience to the table.“
Prior to joining Vivint, Nye served as a project manager for Northrop Grumman, where he maintained missile defense systems. Jim holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Brigham Young University and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Colorado.
