ROCKVILLE, Md.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Creative Computing Solutions, Inc. (CCSi), a leading provider of program management, enterprise systems engineering, and security and information assurance solutions to the federal government, today announced that Manju Bewtra and Tiffany Mensah have been named as finalists in the eleventh annual Heroines in Technology® Awards. The Heroines in Technology® Awards, presented by The Northern Virginia Chapter of the Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association (AFCEA NOVA) and the March of Dimes, recognizes women in the Maryland, Washington, D.C. and Northern Virginia technology industries who demonstrate community leadership.
A finalist in the program’s Rising Heroine category, Tiffany Mensah, spearheads CCSi’s corporate social responsibility program, Community Involvement Programs (CIPs). In the past year alone, Tiffany and her colleagues have donated more than 175 pounds of food items to benefit the Capital Area Food Bank and donated more than 400 pairs of shoes to Soles4Souls through the program. She considers her greatest single contribution to date to be the book drive she coordinated with the Sandals Foundation, the philanthropic arm of Sandals Resorts International that resulted in the donation of 450 books to the center.
“The immense human compassion and volunteerism our company shows is both humbling and overpowering. We could not be more proud of both Manju and Tiffany for being named finalists in this year’s Heroines in Technology Awards,” said Dr. Naren Bewtra, COO of CCSi. “It is an award that represents their extreme commitment to both social responsibility and their dedication to helping community members around the world.”
A finalist in the program’s Corporate Heroine category, CCSi founder and CEO, Manju Bewtra has been the guiding force behind the company’s widespread culture of volunteerism. A strong advocate for women and children’s rights, Manju is actively involved in fundraising efforts for ASHA for Women, a non-profit that seeks to empower women and children of South Asian-descent combat domestic violence, and Muskaan, a nonprofit organization that provides mentally challenged children in New Delhi, India with learning experiences beyond the traditional classroom. She also has a long standing personal philosophy and commitment for contributing a portion of the CCSi yearly profit to many organizations involved in healthcare research and improving the quality of life for people around the globe as well as within the US.
“We’re thrilled to have seen so much interest in this year’s Heroines in Technology Awards call for nominations,” said Bridget Bean, Event Co-Chair and District Director, U.S. Small Business Administration. “Women in our area are doing extraordinary things within the community, and our intent is that these awards recognize finalists for their passion and dedication to the technology industry. Heroines in Technology Award winners will be announced at a black-tie gala on October 21, 2011 at the Hyatt Regency Reston in Reston, Va., where there will be dinner, music and auctions.
