NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--NTT America, a wholly owned U.S. subsidiary of NTT Communications (NTT Com), a global infrastructure services provider, today announced it has extended its suite of private cloud services beyond its data centers to support hybrid cloud requirements after achieving VMware vCloud® Powered status for the NTT Communications private cloud service offering. In addition, the company is announcing the new Global Enterprise Portal, which was designed to simplify the administration of cloud computing services, while increasing the level of security required in the cloud. NTT America will showcase the portal and have cloud architecture experts on-hand at the NTT Communications booth #320 at VMworld® 2011, August 29 through September 1 at The Venetian in Las Vegas, NV.
Customers seeking VMware vCloud Powered services are assured that the company’s cloud services are underpinned by VMware’s leading virtualization and cloud computing technology, namely VMware vSphere® and VMware vCloud Director™. Customers of NTT America have the ability to move workloads from their VMware vSphere-based virtualized or private cloud environment to the VMware vCloud Powered service and back again. This application portability is a key differentiator allowing customers to achieve the flexibility and security they need while enabling increased IT agility.
With the announcement of the new Global Enterprise Portal, NTT Communications offers a single site for enterprise IT administrators to access their NTT Communications services including cloud computing, managed storage and security, network, colocation, and managed hosting. Administrators also have access to a variety of productivity enhancing features such as provisioning tools, reporting, monitoring, access to high level support and billing information. To address enterprise cloud security demands, NTT Communications includes a secondary level of authentication.
Key Product/Service Highlights
-
VMware vCloud Powered
- NTT Communications customers can move workloads from their private cloud environment to the VMware vCloud Powered service and back again. This application portability allows customers to achieve the flexibility and security they need while enabling increased IT agility.
- To support large enterprise customers in a hybrid cloud computing environment, NTT Communications is utilizing technology from VMware to move workloads between an enterprise’s private cloud inside their protected firewall and the private cloud resources the enterprise operates within the NTT Communications data centers.
- The customers who require certain applications and databases to remain behind their firewalls, due to IT policies or security procedures, will still have access to secure private cloud computing for their other applications. The company’s hybrid cloud solution enables critical applications to remain at the customer site while allowed applications can take advantage of the portability of the NTT Communications solution.
- With full control of their cloud-based workloads, enterprise IT managers can affect cost optimization as well as resource optimization to maximize their IT budget dollars.
-
NTT Communications Global Enterprise Portal
- As enterprises expand beyond the country of their provider, access to a common set of tools, resources, reporting and service provisioning capabilities is critical for IT administrators.
- NTT Communications’ new Global Enterprise Portal provides a single integrated portal for all NTT Communications services including private cloud, managed storage and security services, network services, colocation, and managed hosting.
- The portal supports role-based administrative access so that specific roles can be assigned to individual users and is architected for security. The portal requires a double authentication, providing an additional level of security in managing the environment.
