Travelocity’s Rest-of-Summer Guide to Hotel Deals

Web Site Helps Travelers Find When to Go Where for the Rest of Summer

SOUTHLAKE, Texas--()--Labor Day is just five weeks away and with hotel rates higher this summer as compared to last, travelers may be wondering when is the cheapest time to travel to the summer’s top vacation destinations. Travelocity conducted a day-by-day analysis of average daily rates (ADR) from now through Labor Day to identify clusters of dates when hotel rates are lowest.

“Flexibility of travel dates is an easy way to find hotel deals during a popular travel time like the summer months. Tools like GoodBuy hotel rates are key to seeing which dates are the least expensive to book a hotel, regardless of season or destination,” said Genevieve Shaw Brown, Travelocity’s editorial director.

In order to find the dates most likely to offer hotel deals, Travelocity first identified the daily rates for every day until Labor Day for the top summer travel destinations. Then, the web site identified clusters of three or more days in a row of lower-than-average ADR. In some cases, the difference in rates was as much as 63 percent.
