FAIRFAX, Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--ICF International, a leading provider of consulting services and technology solutions to government and commercial clients, has named Michael Savonis to the position of fellow, supporting ICF’s work related to transportation, climate change, and sustainability. Mr. Savonis will provide technical assistance and advisory support on a range of climate change adaptation, greenhouse gas (GHG) mitigation, and air quality projects for ICF.
Mr. Savonis has more than 25 years of experience in transportation policy, capital program development, and strategic planning. Most recently, he served as the senior policy advisor for the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) Federal Highway Administration (FHWA). Mr. Savonis helped establish the Department of Transportation Center on Climate Change and, with the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), the Alliance for Clean Air and Transportation. Mr. Savonis is the lead author of the seminal U.S. government report, The Impacts of Climate Change and Variability on Transportation Systems and Infrastructure: Gulf Coast Study, Phase I, and is one of the nation’s leading analysts on GHG, air pollutants, and system resilience in the context of transportation planning and policies.
