TechWeek Assembles the Most Inspiring Technology Leaders From Around the World

TechWeek 2011

CHICAGO--()--TechWeek, the nation’s newest technology and innovation conference showcasing premier technologies and progressive tech-driven conversations arrives in Chicago, July 22-25, 2011, at the Merchandise Mart.

Confirmed keynote speakers include Aneesh Chopra, the Chief Technology Officer of the United States; Jason Fried, Co-Founder and CEO of 37signals; Craig Newmark, Founder of Craigslist; J.B. Pritzker, Founder of New World Ventures; Dave McClure, Founding Partner of 500 Startups; Penelope Trunk, CEO of Brazen Careerist; and others from comScore, Google, GrubHub and YouTube.

The TechWeek Conference & Expo is scheduled to host over 200 speakers, 100 sessions across 10 tracks and more than 100 exhibitors. The event’s conference tracks will focus on areas such as social media, software development, finance and advertising.

“TechWeek is the first major technology event of its kind to present the opportunity for our featured speakers to collaborate with Chicago’s own business luminaries,” said Geoff Domoracki, CEO of midVentures, the producers of TechWeek. “Chicago is a major participant in the larger international business community, and it made sense to form stronger relationships with fellow innovators by hosting TechWeek.”

TechWeek today announced it invites remote participants to register for a Virtual VIP pass and listen to the conference’s featured speakers on its live stream throughout the four-day conference.

TechWeek also uncovers national innovation with midVenturesLAUNCH, the largest startup competition in the Midwest on Monday, July 25. Last year, in 2010, the competition drew over 2,000 participants, 75 startup companies and attendees from 29 states and six countries. This year during TechWeek, over 50 early-stage tech startups (less than 3 years old; less than $3M in funding) will be pitching venture capitalists to win cash, prizes and a chance to pitch on stage in front of the TechWeek conference.

In addition, TechWeek will also feature more than 50 independently organized events and parties that will be held around Chicago throughout the week, from July 21-29.
