TechCrunch Unveils Redesigned Site and Logo

SAN FRANCISCO--()--TechCrunch released significant enhancements to its site in an effort to continue to provide its readers with the most breaking technology news available today. This is the site’s fourth major redesign - TechCrunch has been the number one source of breaking tech news since its inception in 2005 according to Techmeme Leaderboard.

In addition to a new design and logo, TechCrunch is rolling out enhancements to its content management system to better showcase its rich editorial archives, related statistical data from CrunchBase and the social influence of its community. The site was also tuned for speed, efficiency and ease-of-use for its writers, who collectively post more than 100 articles on the site daily. The redesign consolidates CrunchGearMobileCrunch, and TechCrunch IT under the TechCrunch domain to better reflect that mobile development, hardware and cloud services are all central themes to today's core internet technology development. TechCrunch EUTechCrunch France and TechCrunch Japan will remain separate sites on the TechCrunch.com domain.

The TechCrunch redesign has been developed in partnership with AOL's Customer Experience team, part of Brad Garlinghouse's west coast operations at AOL. Dave Feldman, Director and Matte Scheinker, Vice President lead the project with support from leading design agency, Code and Theory. TechCrunch continues to be hosted on WordPress VIP, and in addition to the WordPress team, TechCrunch leveraged WordPress contractors Stresslimit and 10up for technical integration.

Dell is the underwriting advertising sponsor of the TechCrunch redesign, and the company leveraging AOL's proprietary large-format Devil ad units to help showcase the enhanced functionality and usability of the new site.

Today's relaunch starts a series of ongoing content and user enhancements that will continue to roll out over the coming months.
