NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--After five successful years as Executive Editor, Dan Costa will be promoted to Editor-in-Chief, PCMag.com and Senior VP, Content, Ziff Davis. Costa, who will be only the sixth person to hold this position in 29 years, will continue to oversee the renowned PCMag Labs, providing high quality testing and reviews that consumers relish and rely on for product information. Costa succeeds Lance Ulanoff, who is leaving the company after 16 years to pursue other interests. The announcement was made by Steve Horowitz, Chief Operating Officer, Ziff Davis, Inc.
A prolific technology journalist for 17 years, Costa began working at PC Magazine in 2005 as a senior editor, covering consumer electronics. His most position with Ziff Davis was Executive Editor, Reviews. Previously, Dan was Editor of the CNET Fortune Technology Review, managing editor at Workstationplanet.com, and columnist at Computer Shopper. His articles have appeared in various publications and Web sites, including Digital Life, CNET, Tech Living, LabRat, Blender, Budget Living, Publisher’s Weekly, Mobile Computing, Parent & Child, Time Out New York and FoxNews.com.
In the last year alone, the Ziff Davis network of sites, including PCMag.com, Geek.com, ExtremeTech.com and LogicBUY.com has experienced sharp audience growth, with a 75% increase in Visits and a 48% increase in Page Views. Growth has come from all sources, including organic search, direct/bookmark, social, mobile, as well as repeat visitors.
