BEIJING & LOS ANGELES--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The Cimarron Group announced today the establishment of the company’s expansion into mainland China with the opening of a full-service office in Beijing and has been awarded agency of record for MGM Grand Hospitality. The announcement was made by The Cimarron Group’s CEO, Robert J. Farina.
The Beijing team is currently at work executing marketing and branding plans for the MGM Grand Sanya Resort, located in Hainan, China, scheduled to open later this year.
“We are proud to have been chosen by MGM Grand Hospitality and look forward in helping to launch the MGM Grand Sanya this Fall,” said Farina. “Our expansion into the hospitality sector in China was a natural progression for our team. In the U.S., Cimarron has been servicing the hospitality industry for years as well as live entertainment with clients such as MGM Grand, Wynn, and CIRQUE Du Soleil,” added Farina. “In addition, with over 500 films being made in China each year and the number of theaters expected to reach almost 7,000 by 2012, we felt the time was right for a permanent presence in China. Cimarron has been a leading film marketing agency serving the Hollywood industry for decades. Now as competition grows for box office dominance on any given opening night in cities across China, Cimarron is committed to now serving the China industry with the same vigor and skill.”
The Beijing office becomes the second Asian territory locale for The Cimarron Group, signifying a commitment to the burgeoning business opportunities within the pan-Asian region. In late 2010, Cimarron was commissioned by both the Peoples Republic of China and Singapore governments to produce a documentary TV special of “The Making of China Singapore IN-CONCERT 2010.” This documentary aired to over 400 million viewers in China and around the world on CCTV4. The Cimarron Group Asia opened its first office in Singapore in early 2009.
Senn Moses, Managing Director of Cimarron Group Asia will oversee day-to-day operations of the Beijing and Singapore offices.
“MGM Hospitality is excited to have a talented and knowledgeable partner like Cimarron Asia assisting us with the expansion of our MGM Grand brand in China. We have aggressive plans for growth and Cimarron is the perfect agency to support our needs on multiple levels,” said David Van Kalsbeek, Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing for MGM Grand Hospitality.
