WEB SHERIFF FILES LEGAL ACTION IN 'COLD WAR' AGAINST ALLEGED RUSSIAN IMPOSTERS

A digital Cold War has manifested itself as Web Sheriff, www.websheriff.com, the world's leading anti-piracy protection agency, fires the first shots in an international legal battle against an alleged Russian imposter. The rogue website, operating under the WebSheriff.ru banner, has not only copied Web Sheriff's trademark, but also poses to offer similar services.

According to Web Sheriff, the fraudulent website has misguidedly targeted a company widely recognized as the leading expert in on-line fraud protection. Web Sheriff founder John Giacobbi addressed the issue, commenting, "Even though we have become established as the world's Web Sheriff, ironically we're now fighting the same battle as we fight on behalf of our clients - who said the Cold War was over?!" Adding, "This town ain't big enough for the both of us."

Web Sheriff has launched an intercontinental legal attack in this high profile case of abuse, enlisting the firepower of litigators Tolpin Law in the US and Young & Wassermann in Russia.

Web Sheriff earned its reputation as the internet policing expert of choice in the music industry, working with clients such as Michael Jackson, Bob Dylan, Prince, Bryan Adams, Van Morrison, Lady Gaga, Adele, Beyonce and many others.

This week, Web Sheriff has protected all 3 of the Top 3 albums in the UK charts: Beyonce, Adele & Lady Gaga. Beyonce's new album, "4", has also followed Adele and Lady Gaga to the top of the US charts, the albums all setting sales records despite leaking ahead of release. The agency has also protected # 1 US Box Office movies.

"Our 'gentle, gradual approach' as reported in an L.A. Times front page cover story has been a proven success," stated Giacobbi.

Web Sheriff also has an impressive track-record of recovering fraudulently registered domain names for its showbiz clients. With a record like that, Giacobbi remarks, "These Russian imposters have picked the wrong company to try and rip-off. They'll be cracking rocks in Siberia by the time we've finished with them."
