DUBLIN--(BUSINESS WIRE)--More than half of Americans say they have concerns about the quality of their water as more people become educated about specific contaminants and take action in their homes.
Following the Feb’11 survey* of over one-thousand consumers by the WQA (Water Quality Association, a not-for-profit trade organization), Waterlogic, the world’s leader in workplace drinking water dispensers, is now extending its revolutionary Firewall™ UV purification technology into the home.
The survey reports that a majority of consumers are now willing to pay more to eliminate water contaminants. And nearly a quarter say they have primary responsibility for water quality in the increasing belief that safe drinking-water is a public/private partnership. 19% of respondents were exposed to “boil-water alerts.” This prompted them to purchase a water-filtration device. Furthermore, 54% are concerned about health contaminants in tap water. And 42% stated that drinking-water is not as safe as it should be.
“Waterlogic understands this need.” states Waterlogic Business Development Director Moshe Gazit. “Our unique and revolutionary Firewall™ is the most effective POU (Point of Use) water purification technology currently available. The Firewall purifier was tested and certified by the WQA and we have incorporated this into a range of attractively designed home products that aim to give full peace of mind in terms of consistent water quality, and all at an affordable price.”
Guarding against many of the more resistant strains of waterborne bacteria that can cause illness.
Dr Klaus-Peter Lörcher is a highly-regarded expert in the fields of analytical chemistry and drinking water, and Head of the Dr Lörcher Institute in Stuttgart, Germany. He explains, “Analysis has shown that the Firewall™ UV technology works outstandingly well and is capable of reducing even the more resistant bacteria in an excellent way. When tested after long periods of stagnation, the Firewall™ UV technology still produces excellent reduction ratios. Our Institute can certify that the Firewall™ has a 99.999% (five-log reduction) against Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Legionella pneumophila.”
