NEW ORLEANS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Advanced Instruments, Inc. announced today that the company will rebrand its entire Spiral Biotech product line as Advanced Instruments during 2011. The rebranding program will be completed by January 1, 2012. Spiral Biotech’s products include the Autoplate® Spiral Plating System and the QCount® colony counting system.
“Advanced Instruments has provided the life sciences industry with the highest-quality instruments for more than 50 years,” said Anthony Pappas, national sales manager at Advanced Instruments. “Spiral Biotech customers will benefit from the company’s deep experience, large engineering team, aggressive product development program, and worldwide technical and application support network.”
Pappas said that Advanced Instruments has a fully functioning support laboratory as well as a full-time staff of microbiologists, instrumentation specialists, and food safety experts. “The transition to Advanced Instruments branding signifies our commitment to Spiral Biotech customers to provide exceptional engineering and support on a global basis, plus the most reliable and easy-to-use products,” he said.
The company made the announcement at asm2011, the 111th general meeting of the American Society for Microbiology.
Autoplate, QCount, and Anoxomat Featured at asm2011
Advanced Instruments featured several of its industry-leading automated microbiology systems in its booth, #1021, at asm2011. They included:
- The new Autoplate Spiral Plating System, which provides 50% faster cycle times — 35 seconds as opposed to 70 seconds; a new Windows® CE–based touchscreen display; and an expanded range of analysis that includes two new spiral plating modes. The system improves productivity, offers greater detection sensitivity and repeatability, and reduces consumables, compared with previous models.
- The new QCount colony counting system, which incorporates all the industry-leading features from both the black-and-white QCount and the Color QCount systems into one instrument, at a new lower price. The QCount provides sharp, error-free plate counts without complex color adjustments. It offers the resolution needed to count the smallest colonies, and the flexibility to count pour, spread, spiral, and color plates.
- The AnoxomatTM anaerobic system, for the cultivation of bacteria. In less than 3 minutes, the instrument creates anaerobic and microaerophilic environments in reusable jars, eliminating the handling, cost, and hazardous waste associated with gas-bag and chamber systems.
