RAMP Announces Executive Promotions

Rapid growth of business and product line development creates new executive roles

WOBURN, Mass.--()--RAMP, the industry’s leading Content Optimization platform for major online media publishers, today announced the promotion of Raymond Lau, PhD to Chief Technology Officer, and Joe Lichtman to Vice President, Managed Services reflecting the company’s rapid growth of its Content Optimization solutions and continued customer adoption.

Dr. Lau joined RAMP in 2008 as Vice President of Technology responsible for the company’s R&D efforts around its core intellectual property and 21 patents. In his new role as Chief Technology Officer, Ray responsibilities now include management of RAMP’s engineering and product development efforts as well as the 24x7 operation of RAMP’s Software as a Service environment. Prior to RAMP, he was a senior technology lead for IBM’s Content Discovery Services group, which acquired iPhrase Technologies, Inc., a company Ray co-founded. iPhrase was a provider of high value enterprise search solutions to Fortune 1000 customers including Charles Schwab, Staples and CA. Some of Ray’s other entrepreneurial efforts include Handango, a leading distributor of software for mobile devices and StuffIt, the data archival standard on MacOS from 1987 onwards. Dr. Lau received his S.B., S.M. and Ph.D., all in computer science, from MIT. His doctoral work was in the area of syllable modeling for voice recognition.

Joe Lichtman joined RAMP in 2010 as Director of Technical Sales and has managed all of RAMP sales engineering efforts in landing many of its major media customers including NBC, Comcast, Fox, Reuters, and more. Joe was also instrumental in launching RAMP’s successful Managed Services offering. With over 10 years of experience in technology, Joe has held leadership positions in several technology companies. Prior to joining RAMP, he held product management positions at Microsoft and FAST Search & Transfer, where he was responsible for product strategy and marketing for the Media market segment.
