Apperian Expands Management Team to Lead Aggressive Push into Market for Enterprise Mobile Application Development

Company moving into new Boston headquarters to accommodate rapid growth

BOSTON--()--Apperian, Inc., a provider of cloud-based mobile application management for the enterprise, today announced it has added several executives to its management team and is moving to significantly expanded headquarters space in Boston.

A month after landing $9.5 million in financing, the company is poised to aggressively pursue opportunities in the enterprise mobile application management market.

Executives now part of the team are Brian Day, Chief Financial Officer, Alan Murray, Senior VP, Products, and Patrick Welch, VP, Sales. They join Cimarron Buser, VP, Product Marketing and Rob Friedman, Director of Engineering who joined last year. To accommodate its rapid growth, the company also announced that it is moving into new headquarters at 321 Summer Street in Boston.

Brian Day brings to Apperian 20+ years of experience in financial and operational functions with special strengths in customer, partner and investor relations, contract negotiating and general management activities. He joins the company from Goal.com, where he was CFO, and held prior financial and general management positions with venture-backed startups, including SiCortex, Inc., Gomez, Inc. and Octave Communications.

Patrick Welch has more than 16 years experience building sales teams at startups. Prior to Apperian, he was senior vice president for worldwide sales at Aveksa where he helped the company grow by more than 5,000 percent over a 4-year period. He also held sales management and business development positions at Netegrity, where he helped grow sales to more than $100 million.

Cimarron Buser has more than 25 years experience providing creative and visionary leadership for products and services in the technology, web and mobile areas, and created the first iPhone magazine. Previous experience includes stints at Texterity and FaxNet, a company that was sold for $240 million to Critical Path.

Alan Murray has spent 20 years designing and bringing to market innovative software solutions. Before joining Apperian, Murray was VP, Product Marketing at Novell, where he oversaw the company’s Systems and Resource Management and Identity Security and Management units.

The head of Apperian’s product development and technology organization, Rob Friedman has worked in the software and mobile industry for more than 25 years. He previously led mobile engineering teams at SaaS companies such as Vlingo and Groove Mobile. At Vlingo, he helped deliver mobile client applications for several mobile phone manufacturers that expanded the company’s reach to millions of new users.
