Bracewell & Giuliani Adds Respected Trial Attorney to Growing Seattle Team

SEATTLE--()--Bracewell & Giuliani LLP announced today that Curt Roy Hineline, formerly co-chair of Dorsey & Whitney’s securities litigation & enforcement practice and a member of its professional responsibility committee, has joined Bracewell's Seattle office as a partner. Hineline will head the Seattle litigation practice.

Hineline focuses on securities and complex commercial litigation, principally defending financial institutions, investment firms, broker/dealers, accounting firms, and individuals in securities fraud and professional malpractice actions in federal and state courts and in arbitration proceedings around the country. Hineline’s practice also involves representing clients before the Securities and Exchange Commission, the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority, Inc. and state regulatory agencies.

An active trial attorney, Hineline has tried approximately 50 cases to verdict in federal and state courts, as well as before arbitration panels around the country.

"Curt is the ideal person to spearhead our growing commercial litigation practice in Seattle. He is a highly-regarded litigator who is well-known in both Washington and Oregon, with deep roots in Seattle," observed Paul W. Fox, managing partner of the Seattle office. "His national securities litigation experience is a perfect strategic fit for our firm-wide litigation group. And his broker/dealer litigation and arbitration experience dovetails with our robust transactional and regulatory broker/dealer practices in New York and D.C.," added Fox.

Hineline has been actively involved in defending both US and international clients in large class action securities lawsuits involving, among other things, public offerings of stocks and bonds. He has represented issuers, officers and directors, underwriters, and bond trustees. In addition, he has represented corporate clients in internal investigations, as well as officers in derivative suits and shareholders in minority oppression suits.

Bracewell opened its Seattle office in July 2010 to better serve its long-standing and growing client base in the U.S. Pacific Northwest and Western Canada, particularly in the areas of energy, intellectual property, litigation, and tax. The office has now grown to 14 attorneys.
