Regional Telecom Leaders Prepare to Set Strategies for Capitalising on New Revenue Streams at Eurasia Com Conference in Istanbul Next Week

Eurasia Com 2011

LONDON--()--Next week, over 400 telecom leaders from across the Caspian, Black Sea, Balkans, Central Asia and South-East Europe will gather in Istanbul at Eurasia Com conference (www.comworldseries.com/eurasia). Their agenda for the 2 days is to establish strategies, set best practice benchmarks and find innovative ways of capitalising on the new revenue streams and broadband developments that are available across Eurasia.

The Eurasian telecoms sector has entered a new phase in its evolution with a sharp slowdown in the growth of basic mobile telephony subscriptions compensated for by a rapid take-up of mobile broadband and value added services. Mobile operators have been able to capitalise on the region’s huge pent up demand for broadband, thanks to the slow response by fixed operators.

Despite this growth, many opportunities still remain for all telecoms companies operating in Eurasia in network development, new service innovation and investment. It’s for this purpose that over 400 telecom leaders will meet next week at Eurasia Com conference, 29-30 March. Representatives will include mobile, fixed, satellite and WiMAX operators, ISPs, MVNOs, ministers, solutions and technology providers, investors and consultants to ensure a truly 360 degree perspective of the market. Attendees will pool their different perspectives, ideas and experiences to set strategies around regional connectivity, broadband, LTE, value added services, convergence and connecting rural areas.

The 2 days of discussions will be led by a panel of 40+ speakers representing leaders of the region’s most dynamic operators, from pan-regional investors (Russian groups MTS and Vimpelcom, represented respectively by Vice President Oleg Raspopov and head of CIS Business Unit Dmitry Kromsky), incumbent operators (such as Kazakhtelecom Chairman Kuanishbek Yesekeev and Turk Telekom’s VP of Strategy and Business Development Dr. Ramazan, Beltelecom’s Director General Demir Konstantin Tikar), competitive mobile operators (the CEOs of VimpelCom Kazakhstan, Turkcell Belarus, Neotel Macedonia, Eagle Mobile Albania), alternative service providers (Global Communications Net Bulgaria, Delta Telecom Azerbaijan, Rozvytok Ukraine) and more.

To enable discussions, sessions will be simultaneously translated into English, Turkish and Russian.
