MIAMI--(BUSINESS WIRE)--DHL, the world's leading logistics company, announces Kraft Foods has named one of its employees, Heather Daugherty, as one of its Going the Extra Mile (G.E.M.) award recipients. Heather, who is based out of the Port Huron office in Michigan, received this award on March 23, 2011 in recognition for Supply Chain Partnership Excellence in 2010. Kraft Foods chose her in particular for meeting the G.E.M. criteria of: accessibility, responsiveness, innovation and problem solving.
“On a daily basis I strive to provide exceptional service to all the clients I work with,” said Heather Daugherty, import analyst for DHL Global Forwarding. “This award really comes as a surprise and an honor because it recognizes those small things you think no one notices, but are really important in differentiating DHL from the competition.”
Heather was presented with the award by Scott Boyer and Gene Tierney from Kraft Foods at the DHL Global Forwarding offices in Port Huron, Michigan. The award is presented annually, in conjunction with Kraft Foods’ North American Carrier of the Year and Regional Carrier of the Year awards, and based on a nomination from the Kraft Foods Transportation team.
“We are extremely happy and proud of Heather for the work she has carried out with DHL for the last seven years,” said Amy Madrigal, district manager for DHL Global Forwarding Detroit. “This award confirms what we have known -- Heather is an exemplary employee and represents our highly dedicated, hard working staff nationwide and in particular at the northern border.”
DHL’s Exel U.S. supply chain management division also recently received the Kraft Foods Leadership and Excellence Award, recognizing exceptional distribution and inventory control practices.
