ATHENS, Ohio--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Global Cooling, Inc. announced today it has signed a letter of intent with the Athens County Port Authority to lease all 50,000 square feet of space at 6000 Poston Road, a building within the Poston Industrial Park.
“We are delighted with the facility on Poston Road. It is ideal for our needs as we grow our business and build the Stirling Ultracold brand for international markets,” said Neill Lane, President and CEO of Global Cooling. “We are excited about the opportunity to create jobs in Athens County and Southeast Ohio. Working with the Port Authority has been a pleasure.”
The facility was originally constructed by the Port Authority in 1998 as part of its mission to promote economic development in the region. The building provides approximately 35,000 square feet of manufacturing space and 15,000 square feet of office space.
“Global Cooling has been a successful business for many years here in Athens,” said Jack Bortle, Chairperson for the Port Authority. “Now they are ready to grow and the Port Authority has been able to provide a quality building for their expansion needs. This is a great example of how the Port Authority can facilitate economic development.”
“I’ve been talking with Global Cooling about their plans since late 2009,” said Todd Shelton, Director of the Athens County Economic Development Council. “The Council appreciates Global Cooling’s commitment to our region and we have been a champion on their behalf. Helping to get them into the Poston Road building is a win-win for the company and for Southeast Ohio.”
Global Cooling and the Port Authority expect to sign the lease by the end of March. Global Cooling will begin improvements on April 1 and should fully occupy the premises by June 30, 2011. The lease term is anticipated to be ten years.
