NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Joel Papernik, a Mintz Levin Cohn Ferris Glovsky and Popeo, P.C. partner, will lead a panel presentation at the New York Biotechnology Association’s (NYBA) annual meeting. The meeting is being held April 6 and 7 at the New York Marriott Marquis hotel.
The presentation is entitled “From the Kickoff to the Closing: Taking the Steps to Sell or Go Public with Your Company.” The presentation will focus on the steps life science companies should take if they are considering an initial public offering or putting themselves up for sale. The discussion will include, among other things, an overview of the market for public offerings and acquisitions, the advantages and disadvantages of each and practical steps that need to be taken in both scenarios.
Mr. Papernik’s practice concentrates on corporate, commercial and securities matters, as well as strategic transactions and corporate structuring. He frequently guides acquisitions, collaborations and licensing transactions in the life science field including significant involvement with development and later stage activity of biotechnology companies. In addition to guiding numerous domestic mergers, acquisitions, dispositions and public offerings to successful conclusions, Mr. Papernik has served as U.S. counsel to several overseas firms in connection with establishing operations, their conducting of public offerings and acquisitions in the United States. He was a member of the firm’s Policy Committee, co-chair of the firm’s mergers and acquisitions practice and a member of its Opinions Committee.
