Lenco Mobile Inc. (LNCM:PK) Announces Successful Mobile Platform Connectivity in Singapore

SANTA BARBARA, Calif.--()--Lenco Mobile Inc. (LNCM:PK) today announced that it has successfully tested connectivity in Singapore using the company’s proprietary MMS messaging platform, via M1, a leading Singapore based wireless carrier.

Making the announcement, Michael Levinsohn CEO and President of Lenco Mobile Inc. said, “Yesterday we sent the first test messages via M1 in Singapore to mobile handsets using our new generation MMS messaging platform. The test messages were all in 3GP video format and were delivered to a range of mobile handsets including Apple’s iPhone and BlackBerry’s smartphones. This demonstrates that we can deploy and integrate our platform within weeks. We are currently testing connectivity with SingTel and StarHub in Singapore and we hope to complete the testing within the next week. Once connectivity is established we will be able to offer clients in Singapore access to the full range of our mobile solutions including MMS video advertising, SMS marketing, mobi sites, mobile newspapers, mobile greeting cards and mobile financial statements.”

M1 Limited (M1) has approximately two million subscribers and is Vodafone’s alliance partner in Singapore. M1 recently announced that, for the first time in Asia, all three wireless carriers were joining together to launch a common brand called “Connecting Tones.” Connecting Tones is a music ring back tone service offered by all three carriers which enables music to be heard while a mobile subscriber is on hold.

The Lenco Mobile MMS messaging platform is currently used by wireless carriers in South Africa, Australia and New Zealand to deliver MMS messages to all major makes and models of handsets. The Lenco Mobile MMS platform is capable of compressing video and other rich-data file formats for high-speed delivery over a wireless carrier’s mobile network. Worldwide, wireless carriers are seeing significant growth in the volume of MMS messages and other data services. Lenco Mobile plans to capitalize on the increased demand for rich-data applications by offering its messaging solutions to carriers in Africa, Asia, Europe, Latin America and the United States. The company is currently in testing with a number of wireless carriers and hopes to commercially launch its services in Singapore, Korea, Mexico, Colombia, the United Kingdom and the United States before the middle of 2011.
