New York Educators Get New Options for Tablet-Based 21st Century Learning

Dell, New York State Association for Computers and Technology in Education (NYSCATE), and Houghton Mifflin Harcourt’s SkillsTutor collaborate to provide educators with seamless mobile solution

NYSCATE professional development workshops empower educators to use capable, affordable Dell tablets and SkillsTutor software to bring cutting-edge digital content to New York classrooms

ROUND ROCK, Texas--()--Educators participating in NYSCATE professional development workshops this summer will learn how to easily integrate Dell tablets and HMH’s SkillsTutor content into instructional practices.

In an effort to meet the evolving needs of educators, NYSCATE will expand its workshops to use Dell’s Inspiron duo convertible tablet with Microsoft Windows 7 and Dell Streak 7 tablet with Google’s™ Android 2.2, with increased options as Dell expands its tablet portfolio.

SkillsTutor software loaded on each tablet will easily integrate into technology infrastructures and learning environments while enabling educators to access large amounts of previously inaccessible digital content on industry-standard platforms. Used by millions of students nationwide, SkillsTutor solutions support grades K-12 and adult education through engaging and personalized instruction covering more than 2,200 activities including reading, language arts, mathematics and science.

The alliance is designed to serve as a blueprint for others nationwide, bridging the gap between digital content, technology and professional development by engaging and empowering students through 21st century instructional practices.
