Oklahoma Board of Tests for Alcohol and Drug Influence Launches New Website

OKLAHOMA CITY--()--Information about Oklahoma’s driving breath alcohol and ignition interlock devices just became easier to access with the launch of the Oklahoma Board of Tests for Alcohol and Drug Influence's (BOT) new website at http://bot.ok.gov. The new website allows the agency to post announcements quickly, keeping Oklahomans informed and increasing transparency of information.

“Our new site helps us reach out to the public whenever needed,” said Robert Blakeburn, State Director of Tests. “For instance, we now have the ability to publish new information to the public on a moment's notice, something we didn’t have the convenience of doing until now. We can also gather information from the public and allow them to request information from us through an online form for Open Record Requests.”

The new site, built through OK.gov’s Go Gov! Web Management Suite, allows BOT staff to easily build and maintain a website without the knowledge of programming languages. Go Gov! is an online product that is similar to using a combination of an Internet browser and a word processor. The system utilizes the new state agency template, which provides a common look for all Oklahoma’s agency websites. This allows website visitors to feel secure that they are visiting an official Oklahoma government website.

The new website follows the Oklahoma Board of Tests for Alcohol and Drug Influence’s recent launch of two new online licensing services. Both systems allow BOT to regulate law enforcement officers and ignition interlock service centers through an online process versus the traditional paper processes.

The website and online licensing services are products of a partnership between the Oklahoma Board of Tests for Alcohol and Drug Influence and OK.gov, Oklahoma’s Official website.
