Apperian Releases EASE 1.5 – New Features Strengthen Authentication and Security for Enterprise-Wide Applications running on Apple iOS Devices

EASE 1.5 supports Active Directory authentication, enables administrators to securely deliver device configuration profiles, and supports more users and larger files

BOSTON--()--Apperian, Inc. (www.apperian.com) today announced availability of a new version of its Enterprise App Service Environment (EASE), which gives administrators new tools to strengthen authentication and security for enterprise-wide applications running on Apple iOS devices.

Version 1.5 of EASE adds native support for Microsoft Active Directory authentication service, giving companies role-based access control to applications from their iOS-powered device. EASE also now allows administrators to securely deliver configuration profiles created with the iPhone Configuration Utility (IPCU). Administrators can set passcode policies, device restrictions, and configurations for email, Wi-Fi, and other device settings.

EASE helps companies build secure mobile applications that improve productivity, while maintaining control for IT departments. It replaces "Do-It-Yourself" enterprise deployment solutions that require significant development and ongoing support resources. With EASE, companies can focus on the development of business-focused applications, without having to worry about infrastructure issues. Plus, EASE saves overloaded IT departments from costly support and manual updating of devices.

In addition to support for Active Directory Authentication, EASE 1.5 features include:

  • A set of ready to run template applications: a video delivery app, and a document delivery app, both using the Apperian SDK to ensure authorized use and enforce updates to new versions;
  • The ability to mark apps and updates as mandatory and to require that users add or update apps by a certain date;
  • Support for more users and larger files – up to 1,000 new users can now be imported at a time, and files as large as 100 MB can now be uploaded;
  • Additional reports, including users and group associations for native or Active Directory users, and another that shows user details; and
  • The ability for the administrator to choose the order in which apps appear in the App Catalog.

“Since rolling out EASE late last year, our customers have seen tremendous returns from cost savings and increased productivity. Implementing EASE has an almost immediate payback,” said David Patrick, Apperian CEO. “We continue to add features to the product to help businesses take advantage of the promise of and benefits delivered by enterprise mobility solutions. With EASE, customers can create, manage and deploy apps to mobile devices such as smartphones and iPads and make them a strategic part of their business.”

EASE is priced on an enterprise/SaaS model with customers charged a fee per each mobile device. More information is available by calling 800-862-0511.
