National Valet Parking Association Presents 2011 Valet Olympics

Who is the best in the valet parking business? Who is the top valet parker in the nation?

SOLANA BEACH, Calif.--()--Who is the best in the valet parking industry? Who is the top valet parker in the nation? Soon, the nation will know the answer to these questions as teams of valet parkers compete bumper-to-bumper for the coveted team and individual titles. At the National Valet Parking Association’s Annual Meeting, valet teams representing valet parking companies from coast to coast will compete in the National Valet Olympics. The honored “Herb Citrin Trophy” (named after the association’s honorary member, Herb Citrin) is up for grabs as each team competes to win the Gold Medal. The best individual valet wins a two year lease from Volkswagen.

The Association, founded in 2002, is staging the 2011 Valet Olympics on Wednesday, March 2nd and Thursday, March 3rd at the Westin Beach Resort & Spa in sunny Fort Lauderdale, Florida. The competition designed to recognize the country’s best valets will be a feature of its annual meeting set for March 1-3, also taking place at the Westin.

The competition will have 10 - 15 teams and 40 to 60 athletes vying for the coveted titles and enviable bragging rights. The festivities jump start on the evening of Wednesday, March 2nd with an Athletes’ Reception and the Key Jumble competition. On March 3rd, the rest of the competition will measure their skills in four more events including: Valet Relay, Individual Maneuvering, Slalom and Luggage Load Relay. These events will showcase contestants’ skills in vehicle movements, memory/quick thinking, parking and precision handling. A Valet Final will take place from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. and the NVPA will highlight the day’s competition with a Ceremonial Cocktail Hour and Awards Dinner parked for March 3, 2011 beginning at 7:00 PM at the Westin.

Competing teams represent these NVPA member-firms: Advanced Parking Concepts, Ameripark, Curbside Hospitality, Laz Parking, Seven One Seven, Sunset Parking Service, Towne Park, Ultimate Parking, and Valet Parking Experts.

This event wouldn’t be possible without the support of industry vendors and sponsors. The 2011 Valet Olympic sponsors include: Toledo Ticket Company, Sentry Protection Products, The Valet Spot, SD2K, and JA Uniforms. In addition, Volkswagen is sponsoring the vehicles used in the competitions.
