StarCite to Integrate Green Hotels Global Environmental Data

Meeting Planners to Gain Access to Standardized Environmental Metrics to Identify Green Hotels

PHILADELPHIA--()--Today, StarCite, Inc. the leading provider of Web-based solutions to strategically manage corporate meetings and events announced a new partnership with the Green Hotels Global program to provide planners with a source for environmental information about hotel properties worldwide.

Hotel properties that are members of the Green Hotels Global program will be identified to meeting planners within the StarCite supplier database. Room-night and event-related environmental metrics from each property will be available to meeting planners during their online sourcing process. The information will allow planners sourcing within StarCite to easily identify the properties that are leaders in environmental responsibility and disclosure.

“Many of our corporate clients seek to reduce the environmental impact of their meetings and events and are considering green issues within their sourcing process. We’re pleased to partner with Green Hotels Global which is following the pending industry standards and metrics,” said Greg Dukat, President and CEO of StarCite.

“Every hotel in the Green Hotels Global system can provide meeting planners and corporate travel professionals with accurate, standardized and comparable metrics on the environmental impact of their hotel,” said Justin Raymond, President & CEO of The Carbon Accounting Company, the company that operates the Green Hotels Global program. “From each hotel’s listing, the meeting planner will know in advance if the property is compliant under green meeting standards.”

Green Hotels Global is the only hotel industry-specific program that provides standardized and comparable room-night and event-related environmental data. Hotels that register in the Green Hotels Global program will have a strategic advantage when it comes to green meeting and event standards, such as the APEX/ASTM green meeting standard. Hotels that are members of the Green Hotels Global program can report the carbon footprint, energy consumption, water usage and waste generation associated with room-night usage and event bookings.
