ECOtality Hosts Informational Forums on EV Infrastructure in the Tennessee Area

Forums in Memphis, Nashville, Knoxville and Chattanooga with EV Project Partners Promise to Get Businesses ‘EV Ready’

SAN FRANCISCO--()--ECOtality, Inc. (NASDAQ:ECTY), a leader in clean electric transportation and storage technologies, announced today it would host four informational forums throughout Tennessee to educate businesses on how to become electric vehicle (EV) ready. The forums will provide updates on The EV Project, the largest rollout of electric vehicles and infrastructure in the United States, and presentations from the key regional stakeholders. Information will be provided on how businesses can sign up for The EV Project and become a Blink™ charging station host site.

The forums will feature discussions with EV Project partners, including; Nissan, the State of Tennessee’s Energy Policy Office, Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA), Oak Ridge National Laboratory, local government representatives and other regional stakeholders.

ECOtality is project manager of The EV Project and will oversee the installation of commercial and residential charging stations in 17 cities and major metropolitan areas in six states and the District of Columbia. The project will provide an EV infrastructure to support the deployment of 8,300 EVs. The project is funded by the U.S. Department of Energy through a federal stimulus grant of $114.8 million, made possible by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA). The grants are matched by private investment, bringing the total value of the project to approximately $230 million.
