TORONTO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Global Knowledge, the worldwide leader in skills advancement, today announced the launch of its new, highly flexible Leading with Impact series of courses. Created in response to the needs identified by organizations in a recent Global Knowledge Special Report, and designed to deliver customized training in a professionally facilitated classroom or virtual setting, these courses will help leaders and managers develop both the leadership competencies and characteristics that drive effective behaviour.
“Many organizations invest in training that develops leadership skills,” said Jocelyn Bérard, Vice President, Leadership and Business Solutions, International at Global Knowledge. “However, skills training alone will not help develop the self-awareness and critical leadership behaviour that motivates and influences others. Leading with Impact can help bridge that gap by allowing participants to discover their personal leadership characteristics of positivity, authenticity, accountability, curiosity and trust. These characteristics all play a role in a leader’s impact on others, influencing their success and their willingness to follow. Participants will achieve their own visions and delight their customers.”
The Special Report, entitled Looking to the Future, emphasizes the need for change. Over 400 leaders and managers across Canada, representing all organizational levels and a wide range of industries and functional areas, indicated that they require either new perspectives and new areas of expertise or a transformation in thinking and behaviour. In other words, when it comes to leadership, doing things the same old way simply no longer works.
Global Knowledge has identified five leadership characteristics and nine leadership competencies that, when practiced together, help leaders lead with impact. The approach combines focused self-assessment and multi-rater feedback on leadership competencies, with practical skills development, discovery, self-reflection and practice. For maximum flexibility, the series allows organizations to mix and match any of the courses to create a unique, customized learning experience for their leaders.
“The Leading with Impact courses contribute to improving employee engagement and retention, shortening time to productivity for new leaders while reducing organizations’ travel budgets for training,” said Bérard. “Participants will develop new approaches for enhancing the contributions they and their teams make, discover synergistic connections to the people they lead and practice new ways of tapping into what motivates themselves and others.”
