BACKCHANNELMEDIA ANNOUNCES COMPANY RE-BRAND AS BCM

Re-Brand an Indication of New Interactive TV Technology Offerings and Ongoing Commitment to the Evolution of the Television Platform

BackChannelMedia today announced a brand shift to BCM in an ongoing commitment to driving new broadcast technologies, provide revenue streams for its partners and constituents and continue to help establish television as an innovative, evolving platform through interactive TV products and services such as Clickable TV®.

“We are thrilled to be opening the door on BCM as we further cement our organization as a leader in providing enhanced television solutions,” said Daniel Hassan, Chairman and CEO of BCM. “Clickable TV® has introduced a working business model for interactive TV by connecting viewers directly with the programming, brands and advertisers that they are interested in, according to their own preferences. After a successful launch in Montgomery, Alabama, we look forward to expanding to new markets and introducing new interactive TV products and services in 2011.”

Clickable TV® is an Enhanced Television Binary Interchange Format (EBIF) application that offers cable operators new revenue potential from TV content and advertising sources that include local broadcasters and local cable ad sales. BCM launched Clickable TV® in Montgomery, Alabama in January 2011 with WSFA 12 News and WCOV Fox 20 participating in the launch to Knology digital HD cable subscribers in the Montgomery area.

This launch was significant to the entire Broadcast & Cable industry because it represents the first time local television stations and cable companies have been able to come together to deploy an interactive EBIF RFI (Request for Information) application. As television competes with online media for viewers and advertising dollars in 2011 and beyond, BCM will continue to offer broadcasters and cable operators with the right tools to enhance existing content for their viewers and provide advertisers with valuable TV engagement data.
