HOUSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Rooster Petroleum, a subsidiary of Morrison Energy Group, announced that Robert P. Murphy has been hired as Chief Executive Officer of the company.
Prior to joining the Company, Murphy served as President and Chief Operating Officer of Helix Oil & Gas Inc. from 2006 to 2010 and as Executive Vice President of Oil & Gas of Helix Energy Solutions Group, Inc. from 2007 to 2010. Murphy had previously served in various management positions from 1998 to 2006 for Remington Oil and Gas Corporation including President, COO, Vice President of Exploration and Director prior to the Company’s acquisition by Helix. Before joining Remington, Mr. Murphy served as Vice President of Exploration of Cairn Energy USA and also served on the Board of Directors. Mr. Murphy received a Bachelor of Science degree in Geology from The University of Texas at Austin and Master of Science in Geosciences from The University of Texas at Dallas.
