BOULDER, Colo.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Symplified®, the Cloud security company, today announced that it has promoted Jay Wallingford to vice president of engineering. In his new role, Wallingford will oversee product engineering, quality assurance, and technical operations. He also assumes responsibility for the architecture and development of Symplified’s cloud identity and access management suite, which surpassed one million licensed users in 2010 and is the leading platform for single sign-on, access control and user management for public and private clouds resources.

Wallingford joined Symplified from Hart Intercivic, a provider of GIS, integration and ECM products, where he was director of development and managed a team that built a centralized address management system for local, state and federal governments. Prior to Hart, Wallingford served as director of engineering at Crosswalk, a provider of storage grid systems, where he built and managed a team of 12 engineers that developed a Storage Resource Management (SRM) application. Previously, Wallingford was CTO for Leopard, a provider of marketing, support, and training application services, and managed a team of 15 developers. He has also held software architect positions at Sneakers.com, Level 3 Communications, Mobile Force, Boulder Heuristics, and Intergraph Mechanical. Wallingford holds a B.S. in Computer Science and Biology from the University of Kentucky. He is also a Certified SCRUM Master.
