MILWAUKEE--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Binary Research International Inc. (BRI), the authority on workstation cloning and migration since 1997 and a provider of cutting-edge software solutions, training and services, announced today the release of FastTrack Scripting Host version 6.4, a simple yet powerful pseudo-language designed to handle scripting needs in a Windows network. The latest version includes new features such as the ability to compile scripts into executable files with a single mouse click. For a demonstration, visit http://www.binaryresearch.net/fshexe.
“While many scripting languages such as PowerShell and VBScript have a steep learning curve, FastTrack is designed to make the job of a network or systems administrator hassle-free with features based on its cornerstone paradigm: any one operation requires only one script line,” said Lars Pedersen, lead developer of FastTrack Scripting Host. “FastTrack empowers the IT administrator to accomplish more in less time.”
FastTrack Scripting Host version 6.4 can compile a script into an executable file with a single mouse click, by opening any script and hitting the toolbar icon to save the script as an exe file. The files created can be executed without FastTrack—nothing special is needed to run or view the files.
The executable file feature is especially useful for administrators who have computers in a public area where there may be security concerns, like an education center, or those who work with computers and users not available for ordinary servicing. Consultants writing scripts for customers would also benefit from this feature.
The latest version of FastTrack also includes major enhancements to the SyncDir command for backup and replication, resulting in significant time saved. Uses of SyncDir could include backing up users' documents, creating a custom backup tool for users or backing up or replicating data on a server. “Large enterprise companies need FastTrack Scripting Hosting for their IT departments to streamline tasks that normally eat up huge amounts of time,” said Annette Dow, CEO, Binary Research International. “FastTrack should be in the IT and network administrators’ arsenal to speed and simplify tasks ranging from day to day responsibilities to Windows 7 deployments, helping them realize a great time savings, which translates into dollars, for the organization.”
What Else Can FastTrack Do?
With FastTrack, IT administrators can easily create powerful domain logon, install and backup scripts, as well as perform administrative tasks and more via its user-friendly GUI. Further, FastTrack makes unattended deployments of Windows 7 possible for organizations planning to migrate to the latest operating system. FastTrack works with WDS to allow custom modifications to ease the transition.
