NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--To kick off Social Media Week, the topic of emerging trends in social and mobile media took center stage at the New York Stock Exchange yesterday in presentations by FT Tilt and StockTwits before an audience of more than 150 social media users and others connecting online. FT Tilt, the Financial Times’ online financial news and analysis service focused exclusively on the emerging world, addressed the demand for coverage via social media in markets beyond the G3 economies, while StockTwits, an open, community-powered idea and information service for investors, followed with a panel discussion on “News Dissemination in a Social Finance World.” NYSE Euronext (NYX) is an event partner with Social Media Week, which is hosting more than 150 events in New York City on February 7-11.
Guests used Twitter hashtag #SMWFT to tweet comments during the presentation and panel discussion, which were displayed on Twitter walls located throughout the NYSE conference space. Attendees also checked into the NYSE on Foursquare.
