Carrix Announces Promotion of Carlos Urriola to Executive Committee

SEATTLE--()--CEO Jon Hemingway announced the promotion of Carlos Urriola to the position of senior vice president for Carrix, reflecting Mr. Urriola’s responsibility as general manager of Manzanillo International Terminal and overseeing marketing and customer contracts for Carrix’s international operations. Mr. Urriola’s responsibilities will expand to include supporting Carrix’s new joint venture operations in Vietnam, SSIT and CCIT.

In making this announcement, Jon Hemingway said, “This continues our tradition of promoting from within to create opportunities for our people throughout the company. It also marks our evolution as an international company as the first (and certainly not the last) employee from our international operations who now joins our senior management team.”

Before joining MIT in 1995, Mr. Urriola held various positions in the National Port Authority of Panama, including operations director, executive planning director and special projects director. He has served as president of the Maritime Chamber of Panama, president of the American Chamber of Commerce of Panama and, since 2009, as president of the Caribbean Shipping Association (CSA).
