HOUSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Robert G. Greer has been appointed Chairman of the Board for Texas Gulf Bank, N.A., an independently owned and operated community bank established in 1913. Patricia G. Ford will also be joining Texas Gulf Bank in the role of executive assistant to Mr. Greer.
Robert Greer began his banking career in 1955 as an Examiner for State of Texas’ Department of Banking. During the course of his career, Greer held the position of Vice President and President for South Main Bank; Executive Vice President of Heights State Bank; and Senior Chairman of the Board, Chairman of the Board, and President (and Founder with the Cullen Family in 1969) of the Cullen Center Bank and Trust. From 1977-1985, Greer served as Vice-President of Cullen/Frost Bankers Inc.
In 1985, Robert Greer joined Tanglewood Bank as Chairman of the Board. After Tanglewood Bank was purchased by Northern Trust / Bank of Texas in 1995, Greer assumed the role of Vice Chairman. In 1996, Greer became Chairman and Co-Founder of Bank of Tanglewood. In 2002, Bank of Tanglewood was acquired by BOK Financial Corp. and Greer served as Vice-Chairman. From 2002-2006, Greer served as a Director of BOK Financial Corp.
Robert Greer is the Past President of the Texas Bankers Association, former Director of the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas, and a member of the Consumer Advisory Council to the Federal Reserve Board in Washington, D.C.
Ford brings 15 years of experience in the banking industry. Prior to joining Texas Gulf Bank, Ford was an administrative assistant at Bank of Tanglewood / Bank of Texas. She has been an active community volunteer within Spring Branch ISD, Goodwill Industries and served on the Management Board for the Post Oak YMCA. Ford holds a BA in Education from the University of Texas at Austin.
