Tenet Announces Agreement with UnitedHealthcare Community Plan

PHILADELPHIA--()--Tenet Healthcare Corporation (NYSE: THC) today announced it signed a multi-year agreement with UnitedHealthcare Community Plan of Pennsylvania (formerly AmeriChoice of Pennsylvania) that covers Hahnemann University Hospital and St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children in Philadelphia, PA. The agreement also covers physicians employed by subsidiaries of the two hospitals. Financial terms of the agreement were not released.

UnitedHealthcare Community Plan is a managed care organization serving more than 85,000 Medicaid and Children’s Health Insurance Program eligible members in the Philadelphia area. The agreement also includes members of UnitedHealthcare Community Plan of New Jersey who receive care at St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children.

“Under this agreement, UnitedHealthcare Community Plan members can continue accessing the nationally recognized programs at Hahnemann University Hospital and St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children,” said Stephen L. UnitedHealthcare Community Plan also has an agreement with Drexel University College of Medicine, which represents Hahnemann’s largest contingent of physicians.
