EMERYVILLE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Amyris, Inc. (NASDAQ:AMRS) announced today that Jim Richardson has joined the company as senior vice president, vertical markets and sales operations. Richardson will oversee business operations addressing Amyris’s key target markets of cosmetics, lubricants, flavors and fragrances, polymers, consumer products, and transportation fuels. This year, Amyris expects to launch sales of both lubricants, including 2-cycle engine and hydraulic lubricants, and squalane for cosmetics products. In addition, Amyris recently entered into an agreement with Cosan to establish a global joint venture for development, production and commercialization of base oils - key building blocks used in the production of lubricants.

Richardson brings more than 20 years of energy industry experience at Chevron to Amyris, where he managed projects and operations across all elements of the energy value chain. Richardson has considerable international experience, including serving as Chevron’s general manager, Latin America Lubricants.
