iWatt to Present at Stifel Nicolaus Technology, Communications & Internet Conference

LOS GATOS, Calif.--()--iWatt, Inc., a developer of energy-efficient digital power supply control integrated circuits (ICs) used in leading-edge power supplies, today announced that Ron Edgerton, the company’s president and CEO, will present at the Stifel Nicolaus Technology, Communications and Internet Conference 2011 being held at the Fairmont Hotel in San Francisco, CA from February 9 - 11.

Mr. Edgerton will discuss the company’s outlook in several high-growth markets including LED solid state lighting (SSL), LCD TV backlighting, and AC/DC power conversion at 4:25 p.m. PT, Wednesday, February 9. A question and answer session will follow the presentation, and one-on-one meetings can be arranged through Stifel Nicolaus.

iWatt’s power management devices are unique in the industry in that they use digital algorithms to replace traditional analog control. When used in power supplies for LED lighting, LED-backlit LCD TVs, Media Tablet adapters, cell phone chargers, and other electronic devices, iWatt’s technology can reduce the size and cost of such devices, and the amount of energy they consume. For instance, iWatt projects its LED backlight driver ICs can save LCD TV manufacturers $5 to $8 in component costs per TV.

Recognizing the company for its innovations to enable energy-saving electronic devices, Gartner named iWatt one of the “Cool Vendors in Semiconductors” in its April 2010 report, and EDN awarded the “Most Innovative Product” in the Power Lighting category of its 2010 Innovation Awards to iWatt’s digital power controller for dimmable LED lighting. This controller is positioned to tap into conservation initiatives worldwide to replace existing incandescent bulbs with more energy-efficient LEDs.
